Young Artist Grant Program

Young Artist Grant Brochure

Background: ArtWorks, Inc. is committed to empowering visual artists through exhibition, educational, and professional opportunities. A portion of ArtWorks, Inc.’s membership dues is set aside to provide a yearly grant to a middle school or high school art program to fulfill this mission.

Eligibility: All middle schools and high schools in the city and county districts in the ten-county Barren River Area Development District (BRADD) are invited to apply. Those counties are Logan, Simpson, Butler, Warren, Edmonson, Hart, Barren, Allen, Metcalfe, and Monroe. Any recognized community non-profit art organization is also eligible to apply for the grant.

Grant Award: The winning proposal will be determined at the November meeting of the Young Artist Grant Program Committee. In considering the proposals, the Council will look at financial need, the range of impact the proposal will have, and how the proposal relates to the Kentucky Core Academic Standards. The funds will be available for the winning proposal by December 1, 2015.
